Dr McKinlay graduated from Glasgow University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Dental Science. He then went on to complete a Member of Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Edinburgh Royal College of Surgeons in 2013. We were lucky enough to capture Dr McKinlay’s heart here in Melbourne, where he’s been a great asset to our d-spa team since September 2015. Dr McKinlay has a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry and endodontics, but above all enjoys helping people be healthier and improve their quality of life. In his free time he’s a keen cyclist, enjoys watching sport, attending art exhibitions and keeping fit at the gym. He credits Melbourne with a great food scene and enjoys eating out at local restaurants. If he had to choose a favourite travel destination, it would be Singapore.

Dr John graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2019. After spending many years away from his home city of Melbourne, Dr John packed his bags straight after graduation to move back to the coffee capital of Australia. Dr John enjoys restorative dentistry and prioritises helping his patients understand how to maintain their oral health in the long term. In his spare time, Dr John is often looking after his health and fitness at the gym or cooking up a feast for his loved ones.

Gabriel is a qualified Adult Scope Oral Health Therapist, he received his Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Melbourne in 2018. He enjoys helping a broad spectrum of ages; from first time visits – to clients reluctantly visiting for the first time in years. Ever since Gabriel visited the dentist as a very young kid he enjoyed going. It was a shock to him when he started seeing patients at uni that didn’t feel the same way. He hopes to provide the same positive experience that he enjoyed as a young kid to every patient so they no longer need to feel fearful of the dentist.

Gabriel enjoys seeing patients for Periodontitis, Fillings, Paediatric dentistry and general check ups. As an Oral health therapist with Adult scope, Gabriel is able to complete fillings for adults of all ages.

Outside of work Gabriel likes keeping active either; running, laps at the local pool, lifting or playing tennis. He also enjoys anything related to music and plays sax in his spare time.

Steph is an Oral Health Therapist who joined the D-Spa team in 2016 after working in the UK for two years. She has always enjoyed teaching and loves telling her patients fun dental facts while tending to their dental needs.

Steph loves hearing about her patients’ latest food adventures and enjoys creating a relaxing, friendly environment for patients who may feel anxious. She enjoys seeing her patient’s dental health improve and seeing them achieve their best smile.

Outside of D-Spa, Steph enjoys singing and playing the piano. She also likes jogging with friends but only if there is a bakery visit at the end of the run.

Annie completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Melbourne. She is passionate about providing optimal oral hygiene education and the best quality of patient-centred care. Her gentle and calming nature help patients of all ages feel comfortable in the chair. Annie has a special interest in kids dentistry and strives to make their experience a fun and enjoyable one. She finds it rewarding to be part of their dental journey and loves seeing her patients leave with a happy and healthy smile.

Outside of dentistry, Annie enjoys watching movies (she loves the Marvel series), trying new restaurants, and travelling with loved ones.

Ghina entered the Dental industry in 2015 after completing her traineeship and certificate III in dental assisting in Perth. After moving to Melbourne in 2016 she enrolled in further study of Oral Health and discovered while working as a Dental assistant she would like to pursue her career in Practice Management.

Ghina joined the D spa 538 Collins Street team as Practice Manager in 2021.

She aspires to continue growing her passion and knowledge within the d-spa team to help deliver the best oral health care outcomes for all patients and to also develop an optimal work environment for the team while further evolving her professional skills.
In Ghinas spare time she loves to travel, discover new restaurants and also attends dance classes.

Sarah joined D-spa in 2018 fresh to the industry as a junior dental assistant after completing her Certificate III Sarah joined the reception team in 2020.

Sarah loves interacting and getting to know patients, while making sure they are as comfortable as possible at d-spa.

In her down time, she loves being with friends and family, spending time outdoors, camping, snowboarding and staying active.

Madeleine joined D-spa at the beginning of 2020.

She began her career at D-spa as a junior nurse at our 538 Collins Street practice and has recently taken on the additional role of front office coordinator.

Madeleine enjoys her split role between front desk and nursing as it allows her to be knowledgeable in more aspects of D-spa.

In her spare time, she enjoys going for walks, drinking lots of coffee and spending time with friends and family. She loves to cook and is very passionate about art and design.

Sophie joined D-spa in 2020, starting her dental career at D-spa with no previous dental experience but a strong passion for health and wellness.

Sophie went on to complete her certificate III in Dental assisting and with her interest and passion for the industry and training she now leads our team of dental assistants at D-spa 538.

Outside of the clinic Sophie likes to spend time with her friends and family.
